Renata Cruz’s Bio

Renata Satil started her path with the ayahuasca 11 years ago, after being trained as an aircraft pilot and deciding to flow into a nomadic life. Throughout these years, the plants and master shamans of the Amazon became her main teachers and she had the privilege of immersing herself into the Yawanawa culture, living at one of their villages in the Amazon and traveling the world as the partner of the oldest son of the highest chief of this tribe during 2 years, helping to organize and hold space in ceremonies in several countries in Europe, South America and Central America. In Mexico Renata was iniciated as Guardian of the Sacred Fire and after this bless she became responsable to gather traditions together. She founded in Tulum, México a ceremonial house and it made posible a visit of many traditions leaders bringing their medicine abroad from the Amazon to the mayas lands. In her hands Renata also holds the gifts of being facilitating sacred circles for women, is a rapeh medicine prayer, cacao and honey ceremonial facilitator, reikiana and thetahealer..

Aline Tavares’ Bio

Aline Silva Tavares, Brazilian, from Minas Gerais and born in the city of Uberlândia, began her journey of understanding and sharing sounds at the age of 5, preparing and performing musically on the stages of the theater and the church where she was born and raised.

Growing up in a traditionally Protestant and 7th-day Adventist family, she delivers 20 years of musical service to the institution. There, in the midst of the gospel industry, she had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors and experience the journey of the musical road as a priority throughout her formative years.

From 2004 onwards, she had the opportunity, together with the vocal groups that she participated, to get to know the studio recording environment, making her involvement with music more and more professional and serious over the years. The recording studios and various stages become a learning environment. The recordings were made in groups of up to 12 people who musically represented the institution. In 2010, she started producing her solo album, which was finally released to the public in 2012 through publicity tours and social media such as Spotify and iTunes.

In 2016, Aline asked for a leave of absence from the Adventist church and began to experience a process of self-discovery. In 2017, the sacred medicines of the forest finally presented to her and a new journey of studies began.

In 2018, she received an invitation to study medicine and work together with the original families, receiving direct studies from the Yawanawa, Hunikuin, Fulni-ô, Nokekôi and Shanenawa villages. She learned about and engaged politically in issues aimed at the well-being of the original communities and devolution by right to the families that keep the sacred medicines, and now shares sacred knowledge with us for the purpose of good and healing.

She had her musicality transformed by the full service of medicine and participating in sacred rituals such as Hampaya (Hunikuin tradition), and receives from the bonfires a new repertoire of chants and prayers that she has been sharing ever since. She considers each invitation received to be a beautiful opportunity. In 2022, she had the chance to share on the stage of the “Festival Forró da Lua Cheva” (known in Brazil for caring also with native and cultural realities), and the visit to Khoisan family (Cape Town) where so much ancestral knowledge was shared over bonfires and circles.

She will be with us to share a little more of these sounds, songs and journeys. Aline is open to meeting and learning with the Soul Quest family and believes that union events, like these days we will spend together, are a beautiful miracle in which we will all leave more complete and happier by the power of the sacred shares.

Chris Young’s Bio

Co-Founder, Medicine Man, Purveyor of Tribal Medicine

Founder/Spiritual Guide and Medicine Man Chris founded Soul Quest in September 2013 and established its foundation in April 2015. At a young age, Chris felt the call to help others. In 1996 he obtained a certificate in Phlebotomy and Medical assisting where he then worked in a geropsychiatric Unit. In 1997, Chris went back to school to study Emergency Medicine to obtain certification as an “EMT” and worked as an ER tech at a local hospital. After many years of working in the medical field and seeing how bad legal prescription drugs were killing people, Chris decided to learn more about alternative medicine.

He moved to Germany where he spent three years studying in Europe, gaining extensive experience with Sacred Plant Medicine and Plant medicine ceremonies. This is where he found his spiritual religion, Ayahuasca. After attending many Ayahuasca Ceremonies, he got the calling to bring the medicine to his homeland “The United States” to open an Ayahuasca church and begin the teachings of the Ayahuasca Manifesto, as well as bringing the miraculous healings of the spirit of Ayahuasca to everyone there. Chris chose Orlando, Florida to be ground zero for the Ayahuasca Church for its climate and easy access to its international airports. For the first year, Soul Quest rented a small building in downtown Orlando, called True Serenity. There he was able to begin healing and have church service on a small scale. One year later, Chris and co-founder Verena were able to acquire 4.5 acres of land with a 5000sqft facility where they began to build the Ayahuasca church and healing retreat center. He has his church service at least 3 Sundays a month with weekly group integration via phone and web cast.

Chris is responsible for handling administration and bookings, as well as organizing before, during and after the retreats. In addition, he is actively involved in all Sacred Plant Medicine Ceremonies as the Medicine Man, and he is the primary contact for any questions you may have. Chris is supported by a few traveling shamans (curanderos) and facilitators who provide nurturing guidance and love to care for all church members.
